Steven Tyler (born Steven Victor Tallarico; March 26, 1948) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, actor, and former television personality. He is best known as the lead singer of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, in which he also plays the harmonica, piano, and percussion. He is known as the "Demon of Screamin'" due to his high screams and his wide vocal range. He is also known for his on-stage acrobatics.

He was certainly suffering for his art during the long and arduous process of finding the follow-up to Pump. os in Los Angeles to start recording with producer Bruce Fairbairn in December 1991, problems only worsened. In many ways it might have been expected that the more firmly Aerosmith had their feet back on the ground, the more they would want to wrest total control of the reins. Библиографические данные. Steven Tyler is one of life's natural born survivors. With an exhaustively vibrant personality, this dynamic lead singer has been one of the most distinctive figures in rock music for more than three decades. Raised in a close, loving family, Tyler survived a tough upbringing in the Bronx. His inherent passion for performing and a talent for playing instruments propelled him into rock music as a teenager. He fronted a succession of local bands before meeting the guys with whom he would form Aerosmith in 1970. Laura Jackson reveals the stories behind Tyler's relationships with band members and the many women in his life, his battle with Hepatitis C, and his drug-fueled meltdown during the late 1970s and early 1980s when he was snorting pure heroin. She also explores his visits to rehab in the 1980s which saved his life. Tyler has lived a roller coaster life of excess—spending over a million dollars on drugs—but is miraculously still performing.

This was a great book; just a few too many curse words, which I marked out. Other than that a very interesting book.

This is a great book for any Aerosmith fan. So much detail and vibrant story. I love hearing about the band and Steven in particular.

Steven Tyler has led a fascinating life but you could never tell from this book. Laura Jackson offers no new information or insights. She doesn't even package up the story in a way that is interesting. It's hard to tell but my guess is that she never spoke with Tyler or anyone else directly involved. The book could have been written by anyone that spent a couple days combing the web. It reads like it was written by one of the content farms like Demand Media. Please give back the 3 hours it took me to read this boring book.

LOVEDDDDDDD this book couldn't put it down . was great. would recommend it to anyone even bought one for a friend :0)
I love autobiographies because they show that behind the scenes look of a story you thought you knew already. Steven Tyler made no bones about who he was, what he came from or where he intended to go, and most importantly, how he got there. Ups, downs, and turn arounds aside, Tyler made his life his own and never looked back. Having grown up in New England, and having enjoyed the Boston music scene when Aerosmith was climbing the charts, made this book especially enjoyable for me. I was actually at that concert at Greatwoods where Liv Tyler found out that the guy on stage shaking what his momma gave him was her father. I was eighteen, fresh out of high school, and mesmerized at the show the Bad Boys of Boston put forth. Steven's own story was a continuation of that show. It brought me behind the scenes with a rare backstage pass that I didn't have to sleep with a roadie to get. I would've appreciated it more had the story not been written from someone else's point of view. The parts I liked best were when I felt like Steven was talking directly to the reader instead of through an interview, or reading a review after the fact. That aside, the story was real, gritty and in your face in true Aerosmith fashion.
