Blake White is a seminarian enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and member of Third Avenue Baptist Church. He currently lives in Louisville, KY with his wife Alicia. But the main focus of the book is the author's stress on the very newness of the New Covenant, something that is often lost sight of. In other words, the New Covenant is "qualitatively superior" to all previous covenants. For instance, under the New Covenant the Holy Spirit would be distributed to all members of the New Covenant community, including both Jews and Gentiles.

The Covenant is a historical novel by American author James A. Michener, published in 1980. The novel is set in South Africa, home to five distinct populations: Bantu (native Black tribes), Coloured (the result of generations of racial mixture between persons of European descent and the indigenous occupants of South Africa along with slaves brought in from Angola, Indonesia, India, Madagascar and the east Coast of Africa), British, Afrikaner, and Indian, Chinese, and other foreign workers.

A covenant is an organization or religious establishment consisting mostly of Kindred, though human servants and ghouls are often present at covenant meetings and are sometimes members themselves. There are five major covenants; others do exist, but the vast majority of Kindred are members of the major five, who often disregard the others.

"When the judgment shall sit, and the books shall be opened, and every man shall be judged according to the things written in the books, then the tables of stone, hidden by God until that day, will be presented before the world as the standard of righteousness. At the judgment this covenant will be brought forth, plainly written with the finger of God, and the world will be arraigned before the bar of Infinite Justice to receive sentence. -PK 187. Within the Pentateuch, the Book of the Covenant is the most concise, the most fundamental exposition of the Decalogue. The term covenant is frequently used in Christian theology, but with various shades of meaning. Yet most Chris-tians today are entirely ignorant of this part of the Bible. The laws in this passage (like others in the Pentateuch) are rather mysteri-ous to modern readers. I shall be using it to identify, the personal, binding, structural relationship among the Persons of God and His people. The covenant, thus, is a social structure.

Why are two covenants thus coupled together, and made so prominent in the Sacred Scriptures? It is because these relate particularly to that great work, the redemption of a lost race, for the furtherance of which.

Why are two covenants thus coupled together, and made so prominent in the Sacred Scriptures? It is because these relate particularly to that great work, the redemption of a lost race, for the furtherance of which, even the Scriptures themselves are given, which have consequently received the names of the Old and New Testaments. This is shown in the fact, that the new covenant is designed to bring all those who avail themselves of its proffered blessings into such a relation to God that their sins and iniquities will be remembered no more; which can be accomplished only by redemption.
