Thomas Florschuetz’s exhibition Zwischenzeit (until 3 Nov 2019) features large formats from his series Glas/Wasser, Palastbilder and Enclosure (Neues Museum) which focus on the transition from seeing to showing and intervenes with botanical motifs in the historic palace rooms. Photographer Thomas Florschuetz is best known for his large-scale montages of images of his body, which he called Early Bodyfigures (1980-1990). In these works, Florschuetz explored his interest in vanity and subjectivity, documenting a sort of performance in which he revealed various parts of himself-hands, feet, and face-to the camera.
Durs Grünbein (born 9 October 1962, in Dresden) is a German poet and essayist. Durs Grünbein was born in Dresden. He studied theater in Berlin, where he had been living as a freelance writer since 1985. Since 1989, he has traveled widely in Europe, South-West Asia and North America, and sojourned in various places, including Amsterdam, Paris, London, Vienna, Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, and St. Louis. He lives in Berlin and, since 2013, in Rom.
