Rich Everitt began his broadcasting career when, at age 10, he read a local newspaper over a "crystal radio" he made from a coil of wire and a 10-cent diode from Radio Shack. Since then, he has won numerous media awards for investigative reporting, public service reporting and producing. It starts with the most well known crash, "the night the music died" and recounts the stories behind the deaths of Patsy Cline, Otis Redding, Rick Nelson and many others. A good read for any rock & roll, history, or trivia buff.

Jimmy is obsessed with plane crashes. Rhodes one is talked about. I knew he died in a plane crash, but I didn't know he BURNED. Anthony thinks the pilot was pulling "shinnanigans". I agree that it was a hell of a plane crash. I remember hearing the story in "Behind the Music". How great it would have been to send John Denver to space?" He made a series of fundamental mistakes which made people think that Denver might have committed suicide.

com User, October 5, 2004. It is very well written and spellbinding. I couldn't put it down.

I thought this book was interesting and it helped to answer some questions. The book could have been longer and it did seem like a fast creation by the author. Also the author did not need to provide information regarding the extent of the injuries that were suffered by its music stars. Common sense will tell you that the injuries of any passenger in a light weight aircraft crash can be horrific. With all of that said, I would still give this book a good rating.

Anyone interested in this topic would certainly find this book interesting.

Music's Broken Wings by Heitman also covers this topic. The Ricky Nelson crash is covered in great detail. That book is larger and does a better job of sparing the reader from the upsetting information.

Both are interesting reading material.

Everett is an excellent writer. He knows his subject well. I could hardly put this book down. He's a journalist, pilot, and plays in a band, and really knows how to tell a story. You'll think twice about getting into a charter plane after you read this!

After hearing a review on NPR, I purchased this book for my husband, an airplane buff. He immediately started reading it, and didn't put it down until he finished it. It is engaging, and any airplane buff or anyone who is interested in the real story behind air crashed involving celebrities would enjoy it.

This covers a lot of stories I've heard through the years about various Rock Stars and their untimely deaths. May seem a little gruesome, but I found it very engaging and easy to read. Had the book before and someone "borrowed" it. So, I had to get it again to keep and re-read.

This is a great book and the seller got it to me when promised and in excellent condition! It's actually a book I read before and lost, so I reordered it since I enjoyed it so much the first time. It's a must for anyone who loves to read about plane crashes and celebs!
Fascinating telling of the air crash deaths of well known rock stars and musicians. It starts with the most well known crash, "the night the music died" and recounts the stories behind the deaths of Patsy Cline, Otis Redding, Rick Nelson and many others. A good read for any rock & roll, history, or trivia buff.
