Tim Burton's middle name is cited as Walter by the Museum of Modern Art on its web appearance for a 2009 exhibition on Burton's artwork and a book covering Burton's career as an artist and filmmaker, though it is cited as William by other sources, such as the Tim Burton Collective.

Timothy Walter "Tim" Burton (born August 25, 1958) is an American film director, film producer, writer and artist. The book also contains additional drawings from his illustrated book of poetry The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories (1997), and from The World of Stainboy web shorts (2000).

Ken Hanke's book on Tim Burton is exactly what I was hoping it would be-a well-thought out look at the filmmaker and his work. Bluntly, Holy Fools just do not head up multi-million dollar Hollywood movies, nor do they cut themselves savvy marketing deals, and it's my suspicion that Burton is laughing up his sleeve at those who think he really is the image he projects. Thankfully, this book is not content to accept that image at face value, but delves beneath the mask of Tim Burton to get at more of the real person and the real artist than has ever been done before.
