Going in, I knew this book was largely fantasy. Josephine Sadie Marcus Earp kept so quiet about her early life, that to this day, no one knows much about what happened to her between the time she left San Francisco, and when she hooked up with Wyatt Earp.

Was she an actress? Was she a prostitute? What was the truth.

In this book, she was simply an angel, no less. But the story is still quite enjoyable.

Having read numerous and sundrie histories and biographies of Wyatt Earp ,I found this one entertaining ,but very unbelievable. Some things obviously made up from whole cloth while others ridiculous at best.

With the word "recollections" in the sub-title, the connotation is that Josephine Earp, wife of Wyatt, would have surely known more about the man than almost anyone, thus my purchasing the book.

I was somewhat disappointed, as the tome seems to be more about Josephine than Wyatt. Even when the subject was about one of Mr. Earp's legendary escapades, she managed to project herself in a manner that rendered her an integral part of the event
.
On the contrary, the work of author Glen Boyer is to be commended. It is clear that his effort at getting factual accounts and establishing chronological order was a laborious one.

Great story, easy to understand. There is a lot of story about lifestyle in Arizona. Nobody ever tell their famous story about Wyatt Earp and that's very rare.

Very interesting book, written by the wife of Wyatt Earp. I enjoyed it, some questions about the truth of
some of it has been raised. They had an interesting life.

Although critics have since called the authenticity of this work into question, it is still a great read, and adds a lot of color to the Earp-Holliday-Clantons sage. Worth reading, but must be balanced by other primary works in the field....
I'm only reviewing the item and seller. As described, used, and shipped quickly.
I don't expect the book to be great or add much to my knowledge of the story, but I wanted it to
round out my collection. Good deal for hardback.
