To 'The Lambanana'....Since you asked and invited comment, I will simply say this: I am sorry.

I am sorry that you have little to no taste. I am sorry that you clearly did not comprehend nor understand the book or CD. I am sorry that you failed to grasp what so many people, from Wayne Dyer to Deepak Chopra to the tens of thousands of people that have purchased the authors books and CDs, have naturally been able to grasp.

MUSIC
I am sorry that you are unable to find the enjoyment in music that was written by multiple artists who have won Grammy awards during their careers along with many other smaller scale awards. I am sorry that one of the greatest songwriters of all time in Jack Tempchin was not enough to move you at least a little. I am sorry that you are at the opposite end of very nearly all those who have reviewed this book.

HIS DOG
I am sorry that you clearly do not have a dog (or a friend, or a partner, or something that is representative of the deeper experience he is writing about) and fail to find some level of appreciation in the final song. I am sorry that the fact that Shawn Mullins and Eddie Owens singing on that track were not enough to move you Eddie Owen who was there at the beginning of John Mayer, The Civil Wars, The Indigo Girls and Shawn Mullins who knows a thing or two about great singer songwriters. I am sorry that you could not appreciate the inclusion of that track as the final point of inflection for the writer on his journey.

GIFT
I am sorry that you were unable to see that the story was not a sob story. That it was about the process, the road, the journey of a young 20 something finding his path, and that, far more than that, it was about giving back to those that gave the author so much in their letters. I am sorry that you live such a miserable life that you missed that point and have the time to trash other people.

I am sorry that you were not able to see, read, comprehend, understand and grasp what so many others have seen so clearly:

This is a wonderful story and well worth the read. Perhaps you should stick to reviewing toothbrushes and other assorted objects which do not require advanced thought?

Alex has created something raw, tender and honestly inspiring for the reader and listeners. Simply, it is the most tender depiction of a human spirit. I love how he realizes the difference between observing the process and reflecting on how he came to where he is. He eloquently writes how so many of us feel, trying to follow our dreams and finding frustration and loneliness along the way only to find a gift in it all. The songs and singers are refreshing to listen to with their own styles and tones. With so many people trying to give back to society and their community in traditional ways, Alex has found a unique way to pay his dues to his fans and to the many foundations this give to.

Wow. Just wow. Wonderful stories, wonderful sounds, wonderful combination. This would make a perfect gift for someone who loves good music and good works. So inspiring, so touching, and so uplifting. This little gem renews one's faith in the goodness and caring of others. It's an easy read, too. It took all of one Saturday afternoon, and it was time extremely well spent. Highly recommended. Highly. Buy it now. And while you're at it, buy another for gifting.

I heard an interview with Alex on Hay House, which is what inspired me to find the book. I loved it! Alex has a wonderful voice as a writer and as a musician. Some of the songs didn't resonate with me musically, but I still enjoyed them because of the story behind it all. And interwoven with the letters (which are stories in and of themselves) is Alex's own story. I truly enjoyed the book and the songs. What a wonderful project! Alex, please give us more!

I really enjoyed For The Sender. The title resonated with me immediately, as often, when i send a letter myself, i'm aware of the joy and healing effect this has on me, the sender.
I am constantly amazed at the power of writing a heartfelt letter!
To go through this book, and listen to each song as it appears in the remarkable story, was a pure delight for me.The songs are beautiful, and the collaboration that evolves among the musicians involved was totally inspiring.
To read Alex own story, and the stories of courage from those who wrote to him, was a gift and a privilige.
To see how others connect, and the good that come from what seems like just a little letter, but is really a sharing of souls, and of each others stories, was uplifting and heartwarming.

I'd never bought an enhanced ebook before and this was a fantastic introduction. Alex Woodward is a gifted singer-songwriter and his first book is written straight from the heart. The spoken letters are very moving and the songs really bring the message home. I loved every page.

This is a well written little story that carries a BIG message ! Look at how many things we do 'for others' that really are for ourselves ! In a good way- not selfish, but including being nice to ourselves.
I have read both of Alex Woodard books and they are AMAZING!!! The CD's are a bonus too!!! I think everyone would enjoyed reading and listening to them...
