Sanja Rescek studied graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Croatia. She is the youngest illustrator to win the Grigor Vitez Award in Croatia. She has also won the Welcome Award for the best new illustrator presented by the Association of Visual Artists of Croatia, and the award given by the public at the Interliber Bookfair. More than twenty of her picture books have been published in Croatia, Switzerland, Great Britain, Canada and the United States.

I bought this for my daughter when she was one. She loved it. It is very cute, colorful and has so many developmentally appropriate features. Each page has a little rhyme about the animal and the animal comes apart in two pieces, so not many pieces to loose. I also love that behind the puzzle is the picture of what the puzzle is so if you do loose the pieces it still has the picture and you can still read the book. We miraculously haven't lost the pieces and it has been over a year. This is one of my daughters favorite books and we go through it often. The pieces stay pretty snug in the book so it isn't easy for them to fall out. I recommend this to anyone.

My 7 month old LOVES this book... it is a very thick board book. The puzzle pieces are fuzzy feeling and big enough that I don't mind giving them to her to play with. There are really only 4 pages in this book, but they are very cute and colorful. Anything that keeps her attention span for ten minutes like this, I definitely give 5 stars!
