Teddy Robinson was a nice, big, comfortable, friendly teddy bear. One Saturday afternoon Teddy Robinson and Deborah looked out of the window and saw that the sun was shining and the almond-tree in the garden was covered with pink blossom. That’s nice, said Deborah. We can play out there. We will make our house under the little pink tree, and you can get brown in the sun, Teddy Robinson. The Teddy Robinson Storybook.

The Teddy Robinson stories are childhood favourites of mine and I still have my old, battered copy of More . Age Range: 4 +. Author: Joan G. Robinson. The Teddy Robinson Storybook is the third book that we have read for the 2015 Classics Challenge.

The Teddy Robinson stories are childhood favourites of mine and I still have my old, battered copy of More About Teddy Robinson with its curled up, brown pages and the illustrations that I coloured as a child. I was delighted to discover that the stories have been reprinted in a new collection and we gave our daughter her own copy on International Book Giving Day. The stories are based on the adventures of Joan G. Robinson’s daughter’s bear. If you enjoyed this recommendation you may also like

A sweet, charming story about a teddy bear and his little girl. The remarkable thing about this book is that not much actually happens in the book, yet the rapport between Teddy Robinson and his little girl is so well-written, and their characters are so well-developed, that it is joyous to read. My 5 year old's favorite!!

I learned about Teddy Robinson from Michael Bond's Book of Bears. These stories are charming, very enjoyable for both children and adults. It has become a favorite read aloud. If you child likes Winnie the Pooh and Paddington, she will enjoy this one too! And, there is a "real" Teddy Robinson, belonging to the author's daughter!

I discovered this book at our local library, and our four-year-old daughter loved listening to it so much that we actually purchased a copy. The everyday adventures of a young girl and her teddy bear, it manages to be engaging, sweet, and innocent, without being saccharine or cloying. My two and a half and eight year olds and my husband enjoyed it as well! We read a lot of books, and for a four year old, I would recommend this one above all others.

I suppose it is charming, but I guess I'm not that into charming -- it doesn't make it to my list of "great children's books". My 4-year-old enjoyed it, but it is not one of her favorites either. I think she would have liked it better when she was 3. She was much more fascinated by, for example, "The Wizard of Oz". I like that each chapter is essentially another short story, so it is a good bedtime book (no cliff hanger compelling you to read the next chapter, which happened several times in "The Wizard of Oz" for example).

Deborah is a 5-6 yr. old girl living in England c. 1960 who adores her teddy bear, Teddy Robinson, and together they have fun adventures around the house or with friends. The writing is very graceful, using a delightful blend of fantasy and innocence but thankfully without gratuitous sugar-coated soppiness. The characters are all respectful of each other, have an excellent sense of humor, and are thoroughly endearing.
This book is a compilation taken largely from the books Dear Teddy Robinson and More About Teddy Robinson. I read them in 1970 when I was 6, living in England with my parents, and rediscovered them recently with my own children (boys aged 3 & 6). Each chapter is a delightful bedtime story.
Cute and simple stories that are entertaining for both my two-year-old and five-year-old. Nothing scary or terrible happens, and each chapter is a tale in itself. Lends itself to reading a chapter a night.
