So thanks, Alison Green, for stopping me from writing a children's book that could never have hit the levels of brilliance that you have. Green offers young listeners plenty of rhythm and rhyme that is rambunctious. It also builds up the drama and tension. The book reads aloud very well and is sure to have preschool audiences in rapt attention.

For Mike and Marissa. Many thanks to my great agent, Deborah Schneider, as well as everyone at HarperCollins-most especially the brilliant Lyssa Keusch, Amanda Bergeron, and Lauren Cook. Who's afraid of the fox in the dark? Rabbit is. So are Duck, Mouse and Lamb. They all squish into Rabbit's house to hide. But is the fox really as scary as they think? This is the perfect bedtime book for rabbits, ducks, mice, lambs ...and children! Foil artwork highlights the stars and the title on the cover!

**MOM REVIEW** Great story. We haven't read much though because we have to keep it out of the kids reach since it's paperback (clearly we weren't paying attention, we only buy board books at this age). Bought the Mary Meyer Marshmallow Fox to go with it. Super cute gift!
**UPDATE** One of my 3 year old's favorite books (and one of mine). I know every single word without even opening the book. I do different voices for the animals andmy kids love it (especially the mouse who "shouts 'I need to wee!") Buy it. You won't regret it.

**Mom Review** GET THIS BOOK! It's catchy, well-written, and it's my daughter's favorite! She's not yet 2 and she's memorized sections! I love how there are multiple illustrations on the page - it keeps your toddler's attention, but you're not having to turn the page a ton. I bought a matching fox stuffed animal, and we always have it in our lap when we read! The rhyme makes it so that you don't get tired of reading it over and over (...and over and over ;) to your little ones! Perfect gift for a fox-themed shower or nursery.

The quality of the book is nice. ours is paper back, and seems durable. But it is somewhat insinuating the fear of dar. My daughter is not afraid of dark, or at least not so obviously but if I read it to her exactly every word, I am afraid she might be a little intimated. I like it overall. a good option for the library.

This book deserves wider recognition. We have a fox in our neighborhood. Our nearly four year old son is very curious about the fox. I stumbled across this book. It arrived last night. It had been read three times before bed. This morning he wanted to read it again as soon as he woke up. The story is charming. The vocabulary is smart. The illustrations are the perfect compliment. The rhymes make it fun for the reader too. We both giggled. I am confident this will stay in heavy rotation for a long time into the future.

Our family adores this book! And for parents, it's definitely one of the better-written & more entertaining books in most children's collections. I don't know why more people haven't heard of this one before. It's become a staple our daughter loves so much. She lights up every time we read it together! And the illustrations are excellent!

Fantastic book about not making judgments based on appearances. Adorable art and a great message, and tons of fun to read aloud (the rhymes flow really well). This is one of my daughter's favorite nighttime stories.

Very cute story and fun to read! All my kids (ages 1-5) love it, and it's my favorite one to read :)
This book is such a suspenseful story. My four year old daughter loves the story, and the ending is absolutely adorable. I've begun to purchase books that I will enjoy reading, and it really has paid off. The Fox in the Dark far surpassed my expectations and it is one of our favorites at bedtime.
