A trio album that displays guitarist Jim Hall's absolute refusal to grow old, Something Special is a treat to listen to. Accompanied by pianist/organist Larry Goldings, who sticks to piano for the recording, and bassist Steve LaSpina, the music on Something Special is often introspective, sometimes jovial, but always adventurous. A few of the album's best moments are the ones in which the trio is pared down. Deep in a Dream," tperformed as a solo piece by Hall, is soft and lush.

Chris becomes attached to a gray mare his father has bought at an auction, and is determined to save her from the butcher
Lahorns Gods
A well told story of a girl who wants to do the right thing.
I enjoyed it because I love Andalusians, and know what they are capable of.
Lynn Hall has written a lovely story about a boy, Chris Eklund, in Missouri who befriends a horse named Lacy after his father buys him at a sale. They bring the horse home where his father fattens their horses up for slaughter.

Chris knows his father's business. While he befriends Lacy, he is determined to keep her alive. He knows she is a special horse but doesn't know why?

The illustrations in this book are magnificent. Other illustrations in children's literature should aspire to Sandy Rabinowitz's depth and style. The illustrations here despite in black and white are works of art.

If I have a complaint, the book ends abruptly. Perhaps the final chapter is missing. The reader needs to know the outcome.
this book is about a little boy who's dad was a horse slaughter.Chris the little boy goes with his dad to a horse sale and buys a beautiful gray andalusian mare that was a champion dressage horse but its up to save lacy the horse from his dad and return her to her owners. this book was better than most i have read and i hope you like it to
A very disappointing ending for a ten year old. The conflict was not brought to a close. The reader is left wondering what happens.
