I give reading lessons to a 9-year old boy and chose this series for his level of reading ability. This is the second book we have read and his interest in reading books has increased a lot by having chosen this series. We have now started reading a third book in this series, which was not my choice, but his. This speaks for itself as to the interest in reading these books have created in this young man, and I believe it will do the same for others.

such a great series. age-appropriate for my 2nd grader who reads at a fourth grade level. unlike many kid's series, it doesn't try to subvert the English language to be approachable. it's the world through one imaginative kid's eyes.

My 8 yr old has had some trouble reading -- until we found THIS series!! He loves it, and I've just ordered the rest of the series for him. He received books 1, 2, & 3 for Christmas and finished all three by January 6! I'm so pleased to have found something he enjoys reading, and CAN read!
