I love fossils. And Uncle Roy is going to the Sahara looking for fossils. Jeff learns that looking for fossils can be fun, but also dangerous. And one needs to have a lot of patience. Filled with a lot of educational and interesting facts, even parents will enjoy "learning".

I even learned that the largest dinosaur isn't the Tyrannosaurus, or the Giganotosaurus. It's the Carcharodontosaurus - but just call it Carch or "shark tooth lizard" for short.

Since the trip is to the Sahara, the story shows the travel itinerary of Uncle Roy and Jeff, such as Algeria, Niger and Gall. This is a great way for parents to show children where these places are on a map or globe. They will also learn about "oasis", and sand and more sand.

It also shows of the dangers of traveling out alone in unfamiliar surroundings, such as a large, hot, dry desert. And how it is important to listen to instructions of "staying close" - Jeff learns this lesson the hard way.

If you have young adventurers interested in fossils and exploring, then this book is a great and fun way for them to get their feet wet.
