Good and gracious God, as you gave to us the gift of your daughter Mary, you gave us a sign, a witness, and a manifestation of your goodness and glory. May we follow the light of our Lady of Guadalupe, by becoming ourselves, living deeds of hope that will never fade away. We ask this in your name, and let the church say: Amen. After Christmas, these reflections will no longer be posted here on this FB page.

International Children’s Bible (ICB) International Standard Version (ISV) .  . Psalm 23 New International Version (NIV).

I have used this book in many prayer services as well as leaving it out for the youth to delve into on their own. I purchased one for my personal use as well as a few for the youth ministry library at my church.

The Book of Psalms is divided into five parts, parallel to the Five Books of Moses. In pray I asked God to give me a sign that it was truly him that was talking to me. This is the answer I was given psalms the book of David Reply. It is further subdivided into seven parts, one for each day in the week, and further divided into 30 divisions, for each day of the month. Many Jews make it a habit to say a portion of the Psalms every day after the morning prayers, thus completing all the Psalms in the course of a week or a month. in response to Beverley

The Book of Psalms (/sɑːmz/ or /sɔː(l)mz/ SAW(L)MZ; Hebrew: תְּהִלִּים, Tehillim, "praises"), commonly referred to simply as Psalms, the Psalter or "the Psalms", is the first book of the Ketuvim ("Writings"), the third section of the Hebrew Bible, and thus a book of the Christian Old Testament. The title is derived from the Greek translation, ψαλμοί, psalmoi, meaning "instrumental music" and, by extension, "the words accompanying the music"

Praying the Psalms teaches us to pray. Whenever you read the Psalms.

Praying the Psalms teaches us to pray. This is the most important reason by a long shot. Every Christian knows we need to pray. The church father Athanasius says that if we think of each Bible book as a garden with its particular fruit, the Psalter is a garden in which every kind of biblical fruit grows. Perhaps that’s why travelers in pre-digital days would sometimes carry a New Testament and Psalms where they couldn’t take a complete Bible. you are praying, singing, and reading alongside a huge crowd of faithful witnesses throughout the ages. The words you speak have been spoken thousands-even millions-of times before.

Liturgical composer and performer David Haas loves the Psalms. He says they still have a message for today and are a wonderful gift from God, especially for children. To encourage children to pray the Psalms in words they can best understand, Haas used children's language to rewrite the 48 Psalms found in this prayer book.

Reading the title of the book I expected that it was one of those books that described the actions to do along with a song (or Psalm). But it just lists the scripture verse and a simplified version of the Psalm. He doesn't give suggestions on HOW to sing it. I suppose you just make up your own melody. I have a toddler so I thought it would be another resource to help me teach him scripture to my kinesthetic learner. But that's not the case. I like that the author simplified the ideas of the Psalm into language that a young ears can understand. It just wasn't what I expected.
