I purchased for my grandson, age 12, and he loves the book. This book makes number 6 in the series for him. He highly recommends reading. In fact, he is reading the books for the second time. He stated, "I like the real Jack Sparrow."

My grandson loves Jack Sparrow, and so for his birthday we got him two books. He was delighted and now has the entire set. It's wonderful when you can see enthusiam about reading with all the electronic distractions that there are.

I bought these books for my 12yr old daughter. She's a huge POTC fan & has gobbled these books down. Now she has the whole set (9 in all). She enjoyed them immensely & wishes more were available.

I bought this book for my younger brother (14) because he had the first 4 and asked for the 5th. He absolutely loves the series.

Great book series! My son, age 11, loves these books! It's fun for them to read about a young Jack Sparrow before the Pirates of the Caribbean movie time.

I'm actually a fan of Rob Kidd. I really like what he's done with the story of Jack Sparrow before CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL. The books in both this JACK SPARROW series and in his LEGENDS OF THE BRETHREN COURT actually are good stories, and don't get boggled down by being overly ridiculous or too "safe" for the characters. There actually are things at stake... and there are always interesting new places to explore in the world of Jack Sparrow.

THE AGE OF BRONZE, book five in the JACK SPARROW series, picks up where THE SWORD OF CORTES left off, but in some ways this book can be counted on its own and starting a new storyline. This time, Jack and his friends are off to New Orleans in search of a mysterious amulet stolen from the Yucatan. Their adventure leads them to a frightening new villain: Madame Minuit, who will stop at nothing to keep the amulet and its power...

With a few good twists to the overall story of the series, THE AGE OF BRONZE is another fun entry in world of the Pirates of the Caribbean. And while, new readers could jump in with this story and not be lost, you would do best to go back and start with book one: THE COMING STORM. In all, a fun, easy read.
A little boy who doesn't like to read much is entranced by these Jack Sparrow books. They're well written for kids with a sense of adventure. Like the Hardy Boys or a dozen other series before them, they deliver a consistent and familiar character in cleverly worked plots. The one thing I'd like to change would be to add few more illustrations. All you get here is the illustration on the cover.
