I absolutely love the illustrations in this book! They are so beautiful to look at and so realistic. Rich in small details. Every time you flip through the pages you will find something you hadn't noticed before.Delightful!

I also like the way the text is written and I find butterflies a great subject to talk about with kids. My kids are always curious about garden bugs, and I think kids in general are. My 3 year old and 5 year old were both interested in this book.

I bought this book together with a butterfly puzzle (Melissa & Doug Butterfly Garden Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle (48 Pieces) as a birthday gift for my 4 year old neighbor. It was a hit!

This is an extremely beautiful book. It has accurate information about black swallowtail butterflies. It is the second copy I have bought for my preschool. It has the best pictures and explanation of the life cycle of black swallowtails that I have found. It is an invaluable teaching tool as well as a feast for the eyes. My husband happened to pick up the book and read it and commented on what a beautiful book it was.
