The Greatest Thing In The World: Walking in Love ebook
by Henry Drummond
Like George MacDonald, Henry Drummond was a 19th century Scotsman who wrote books with a Christian theme. Drummond goes to 1 Corinthians 13 to show that love is the greatest thing and the ultimate thing in the Christian's life. If there is no love, there is no Christianity.
Like George MacDonald, Henry Drummond was a 19th century Scotsman who wrote books with a Christian theme. I read MacDonald because he was admired by an author whom I admire, . I read this book by Drummond because it impressed another man I admire, John D. Clemens, my grandfather. He uses as an illustration the elder son in the Parable of the Prodigal Son and his unloving attitude.

First Published c1880. THOUGH I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. Henry Drummond (1851-1897) draws out the profoundly deep meaning of I Corinthians 13. He explains how if we love we will automatically be keeping God's commandments. As you read you may get the feeling that Henry Drummond lived the truths he presented in this very short book. By reading "The Greatest Thing in the World" you will fully understand what truly bring happiness into your life. I really enjoyed reading this message of hope. The supreme thing, in short, is not a thing at all, but the giving of a further finish to the multitudinous words and acts which make up the sum of every common day. For there is no debtor in the world so honorable, so superbly honorable, as Love. Love is success, Love is happiness, Love is life.
