This book has become somewhat of a classic which I frequently recommend to those who are dealing wit this problem. I recommend it not because the author is a friend of mine, but because it is good solid advice. She gives Bibical instructions as to how to deal with the prodigals no matter what their age may be. The Word of God is powerful to the pulling down of strongholds. Quin gives clear concise instructions how to use the Word to fight the battle for the prodigal who has allowed him/herself to become entrapped in the Enemies web.

What a beautiful book that inspires parents to pray for their children more fervently. I love the stories, they gave me such hope of what a loving, powerful God can do in the lives of our children we pray for. I also look forward to starting a "mothers" prayer group in my church. Many families are battling heartbreaking situations with their children. We indeed serve a loving God who loves families and will bring us safely through the storms with our children. Thank you Quin and Ruth for this beautiful book that offers help and healing for our prodigals. God bless you both!!!!

I love this book. If you have a child that is rebellious or has cut off all communication with you, you need this book.

I will be honest and say that I haven't read the whole thing. I bought this book for my mom after searching for a book for quite awhile that might help her in her struggle to keep prayer for my brother (who has been a prodigal for many years now) without seeing real results. She has read me excerpts though (which I've completely agreed with) and her outlook has completely done a 180. She is so much more peaceful now and more committed than ever to keep praying even when you don't see something happen. She doesn't stress at every little piece of bad news about him and knows that she isn't alone in the struggle to have a child go down a bad path in life. After she is done reading it for like the third time I'm sure I'll read it too.
I definitely would recommend this to anyone who has a child or family member who is considered prodigal (whether they've just left the church or are into drugs, alcohol, etc as well) that they have been praying for whether it has been for months or years.

This is a very encouraging book with lots of examples of answered prayer. It gives a lot of insight into why some children who were raised on a firm foundation still stray and go into what we would call "the far country". If anyone is discouraged about a son/grandson or daughter/granddaughter who has strayed this will help you to not lose hope and to keep on praying.

I turned to this book when I realized I was too angry, too hurt, too discouraged with the prodigals in my life to pray anything but grumpy prayers. Wow. It gave me insight, encouragement and practical direction to persevere. Now my “most likely to be given” book...

This is a book of encouragement for parents of prodigal children, because you get to hear the end of the stories, when all the praying and waiting is over when lives are turned around and relationships restored. I would definitely recommend this book. It is not a textbook or hard to read, but practical and easy to read and full of stories that strengthen your faith in the process.
The book is a great help! Liked it so much that I bought 2!
