This is a lovely story of faith and adventure, love and forgiveness, new beginnings and Christian faith. I recommend this story to anyone looking for a good book full of interesting, historical adventure with a love story that does not have the sex or violence that other non Christian books usually have these days.

When Julianna Wayland accidentally stows away on a ship headed for America, she is scared tremendously. Where will she stay in America? Will she be able to get a job? She does not want to end up like her sister: drunk and a "working woman." When the captain of her ship, Daniel Sundberg takes pity on her, and agrees to let her stay on the ship and mend clothing as a way for Julianna to pay for her ticket. When Julianna begins to fall for Daniel, she is dashed when he seems to want nothing to do with her; after all, he is nearly engaged. Will Daniel ever be able to see that there is more to life than money and titles?
I liked:
The era. I can't usually find many books about this era, much less books about immigrants during this unique time in America's history.
The description. Andrea does a fantastic job of describing the sight, smell, and feel of each character.
The continuation. I didn't realize this book was a continuation of the first (Threads of Hope) until about halfway through. I was so excited when I figured that out!
I disliked:
Julianna's aggressiveness. Until about three-quarters through the book, it was Julianna pursuing Daniel. Now, this is solely my opinion, I don't love to read books where the female takes on the pursuing role. Totally just a personality thing.
One mention of God "taking" people. Again, we can agree to disagree, but my personal beliefs are against this.

Overall, this was a fairly good book. I really enjoyed the characters, as well as the descriptive qualities. Although I had a couple of qualms about it, I realize I am most likely the only person on earth with those specific quirks. This book is a perfect sequel to "Thread of Hope." Enjoy!
This book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Threads of Time by Andrea Boeshaar is the second book in the Fabric of Time Series. Having read book one, Threads of Hope, I was anxious to read this book, book two.
I was enthralled with the cover of this book and the title...Threads of Faith brings to mind many pieces of string that are woven together to make a beautiful fabric . . . in my mind somewhat of an imagery of our lives and how God, through our lives, makes a beautiful fabric from our faith and hope in Him.
It seems that book one is about the courage of Kristen but book two is about Julianna and she's running away. In fact, she becomes a stowaway on Captain Daniel Sundberg's ship by accident! Julianna had hidden in a crate not knowing it was to be loaded on a ship. And that the ship would be sailing immediately. Oh! the horror! Oh! the fright!
Julianna and her "accident" become a thread. . . .another thread in her
faith.
This story seemed like a stand alone read . . . Julianna's story. But it never hurts to read the first story before reading the second {smile}.
A great adventurous read incorporating love and faith!
A truly enjoyable read...this book/this series would make a great gift for that reader on your Christmas list.

Much research goes into my novels, so I'd like to thank the volunteers at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum who discussed clipper ships with me, as well as everyone over at the West Bend Public Library. I appreciate your time and support.

London

Running for safety from what might happen to her, Miss Julianna Wayland nears the wharf. Finding a hiding place among the crates, she finds one empty.

Julianna vaulted over the side. Once within its narrow-slatted confines, she gathered her skirts and tucked her black dress around her ankles. Then she hunkered down. Her fingers found a thick layer of straw at the bottom of the crate, and on afterthought, she tossed it over her head and her back, hoping against hope that she wouldn't be found.
Seconds later a man's voice came upon her, and suddenly her hiding place jerked from side to side. Julianna's neck wrenched painfully, but she dared not make a peep.
"It's full, all right, Mr. Bentley."
"Fine. Fine. Now load 'er up, and ye can have the job."
Neither of the men sounded like Horace, and relief coursed through her. But before she could cry out and make her presence known, a lid clamped down over the top of the tall crate and was hammered into place.
--Threads of Faith, 3

Bound for New York City, Captain Daniel Sundberg waits for his Allegiance to be loaded and ready to be towed out of London's harbor and the order to hoist the sails and set out to sea. Usual fare for the almost three-week voyage ~ or is it? With last minute crew aboard, the cargo consisted of several tons of tallow and miscellaneous. The most irreplaceable this trip were several Old Master paintings bound for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Or so it seems at the moment. Treasures to be uncovered; treasures of the heart and soul.

Stowaway. Waiting for the wind to change and a tug, Captain Sundberg cannot further be detained taking her to a port, or risk losing any of his crew, to reach New York harbor in scheduled time.

And Miss Julianna, what about her scheduled time? This is not a happenstance moment for her. It is a life change. Threads of faith will hold her in a woven fabric.
