Marta Perry realized she wanted to be a writer at age eight, when she read her first Nancy Drew novel. A lifetime spent in rural Pennsylvania and her own Pennsylvania Dutch roots led Marta to the books she writes now about the Amish. When she’s not writing, Marta is active in the life of her church and enjoys traveling and spending time with her three children and six beautiful grandchildren.

Vanish in Plain Sight is like that. I always enjoy this author's books. The Brotherhood of the Raven was a good series. Marta Perry caught me with the blurb and held on tight through the entire book with characters so well rounded I’d swear they were real. Even minor characters with walk on roles were clearly people rather than cutouts. The Amish community is a character with a personality, and many of the characters were members of that community. There isn’t an Amish A LASR 'BEST BOOK'! Some books are so good you find yourself recommending them as you’re reading them. I highly recommend this book.

Vanish in plain sight. Dear Reader, Thank you for deciding to read this second book in my Amish suspense series. As a lifelong resident of rural Pennsylvania, I have always lived near the Plain People. It can be difficult for outsiders to understand the tight bonds of the Amish community, so that it is sometimes seen as secretive or unkind in its efforts to avoid conforming to the world. For many people, the extent of their knowledge about the Amish is derived from the movie Witness, but there is far more to be understood about a unique people trying to live as they believe God wishes.

Vanish in Plain Sight (Brotherhood of the Raven). Since she was a little girl, Marisa Angelo has been haunted by the image of her mother walking away, suitcase in hand, to return to her Amish roots. Marisa and her "Englischer" father never saw or heard from her again. Book in the The Brotherhood of the Raven Series). Now Marisa has received a shocking call from police. Her mother's bloodstained suitcase was found hidden inside the wall of a Pennsylvania Dutch farmhouse. Desperate for answers, Marisa heads to Lancaster County.

Vanish in Plain Sight is the second "In Plain Sight" and is brimming over with suspense, riddles, treachery and a wonderful dish of romance. In true Marty Perry form, she writes with intricate detail building each character including the thoughts & emotions that entice you staying up at all hours to reach the conclusion.

The story begins with Link Morgan, finally home from the Afghan war, remodeling his Uncle Allen's old farmhouse in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. While he is tearing out a wall he finds an old suitcase containing a photo along with Amish clothes & he wonders what on earth to do next. Soon, Link gives into his curiosity & calls the local Township Police Chief Adam Byler and his brother Trey. Link has a bad feeling about this. The Chief & Dick McCall show up to investigate & Dick McCall soon recognizes the photo and remembers the scandal from years ago when Barbara Angelo an Amish woman left the church & married an Englischer by the name of Russ Angelo. They had a little girl but she soon left & Russ told everyone that she returned to her Amish roots. Russ & his little girl moved to Baltimore. Chief Byler calls for Russ Angelo but is unable to locate him. Soon he finds Marisa Angelo, now a grown woman to report their findings.

Soon Marisa is packed and driving to Lancaster County to figure out why her Mammi's suitcase is this condition. She is determined to solve the mystery of why her Mammi abandoned her & her Father all of those years ago. Marisa soon realizes that the quiet little town of Springsville is not blameless in her Mammi's disappearance & she finds her herself in danger. Someone is behind the disappearance of her Mammi & she is not going to stop until she ferrets out what happened. Marisa finds herself attracted to Link Morgan but senses that he has a secret. Now Marisa is suspicious of the whole Morgan family & her so-called Amish relatives.

Pull up a comfortable rocking chair & get started because it is full of surprises!

All the "...in plain sight" books (also part of the Brotherhood of the Raven series) are great. Marta Perry writes great suspense, keeps the reader interested to the point of not wanting to put down any of the books. I would always begin with Book 1 of any series, and this one is no different. It just makes sense to begin "at the beginning" of any series, as future books usually refer back to previous books, and that makes more sense to the reader.

Marisa is looking for closure in her Mothers disappearing twenty three years ago. She goes back to where they lived when she last saw her mother.
Her grandmother always told Marisa that her mother "went back" to her people. Her mother was Amish, before she met and married Marisa's father.
Nobody could ever verify that informaton to Marisa, so she goes looking for answers. What was thought to happen to the young woman was sure not
the case, when a suitcase containing a picture of her mother and herself as a young child of five years old, was found in the remodeling of a former
employeer of the mother. Wow, things take off from there, with twists and turns, the Amish in their culture, the town folks in their secrets and special
protection of their own. This gets moving about half way thru and is a page turner from there.
This author is one of my very favorite, and I know from experience that she turns out a great book.

I want to reccomend Marta Perry's books. She is a master storyteller and the The Three Sisters Inn series is a mix of mystery, romance, and the search for Truth. Being a retired teacher who now has more time to read, shopping on Amazon.com is so much easier than going to a bookstore and the choices are endless, and this treasure hunt for books that are fun to read is ecomonical. I love Perry's books and couldn't wait to share them with one of my teenage Christian reading buddies who I know will then share with others. (Hqn)]]Hide in Plain Sight (Three Sisters Inn, Book 1) A Christmas to Die For (The Three Sisters Inn, Book 2) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #75)Buried Sins (Three Sisters Inn, Book 3).These books deal some with the Amish, but not primarily because the three sisters are not Amish.

Also, (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #80)Murder in Plain Sight (Hqn), among others.

Just look up Marta Perry and browse through her selections. I have read a lot of her books and have ordered many used books from Amazon.com and have never been disappointed in the quality of the books or Perry and her books.

Interesting read. It isn't as suspenseful as other books I have read in this category, and the romance is a bit cheesy, but it is well written and has a decent plot.
