An amazing work of fiction - that includes intriguing historical facts of medieval Ireland. The depth of writing keeps you fully engaged till the very explosive end. It has a good vs. evil plot that will have you biting your nails.
The story of Salvation through Jesus Christ is told in an easy to understand and loving way - which I always appreciate!
The clean romance is sparky and entertaining. You will sigh ~ in wonderful contentment. The hero is talk, dark, hunky - and honest. The heroine is brave, strong and beguiling. The love match has great chemistry - and true love. Ahhhh.
Beware of the sword fights - there are a few bloody scenes - but they add true depth to the story.
I highly recommend this book! It will appeal to the Irish in you, the Irish wanna-be's, the Christian fiction lover, and the clean romance lover!

I haven't read too many books where the heroine is such a strong, dominant and almost manly character. If her personality were in any other setting, I don't think I would have been able to read the book and relate to the character. Because she was raised as the future queen, I could accept her demanding impatience and blunt, rude comments to everyone as what she was taught to be in order to rule her people. Linda Windsor did a good job at showing a softer, uncertain side to Maire's character when it came to love and relationships. Rowen was the perfect hero with strength, Godly character and gentleness. I enjoyed seeing how difficult it would have been to show the Celtic people about God and have them accept Him as the one true God when their world was so full of other gods and mysticism.

This book is very well written, definitely not boring, and interesting to say the least. I don't normally read books that have much religion in them, but I love historical fiction. So here we are. I like the stubbornness of both the main characters, and the plot they are involved in. I can't wait to read the next in the series and am excited to see what befallen the next heroine in this series!

This is the first book I have read by Windsor but I plan on reading more! This is a delightful, imaginative and engrossing tale. Filled with drama, faith, history, action and romance it is sure to keep the pages flying. Our hero is swoon worthy but even more his character, faith and love inspire. The characters are well written and engaging. This was one of those stories that when you have to put it down it lingers on your mind and has you so eager to pick it back up again. I am only sad it is over ... but excited there are more books to read in this series and by this author! 4 1/2 Stars

Under conviction of God, I gave up "secular romance" novels a few years ago. But I really missed the stories set during the Viking to mideval time period, since most Christian novelists don't write about those times. Maire (pronounced MOY-rah) was such a wonderful surprise, weaving the story of the ancient Celts in with the spread of the Gospel to the Emerald Isle. Linda Windsor's attention to detail, knowledge of the historical era, and wonderful description brought the characters and the time period to life. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical romance.

Another wonderful world created by Windsor. Her ability to even create an accent for the reader with each word is unparalleled. Beautiful love story, genuine spiritual truth and great character depth throughout. My only disappointment Windsor, is I wanted a little more of the picture and the characters and the sweet story - the last page was too soon for me.

Maire, I can honestly say is one of the best books I've read. It's full of suspense, history, love and Christian values without being "preachy". It also has humor and an ability to relate to all the human feelings, aspirations and predicaments we human beings encounter as we travel the pilgimage of life. I strongly recommend it to any reader who enjoys a historical Christian love story.
Definitely a 5 star book! Thank you Linda Windsor for your beautiful and entertaining novel!
As I said before, I am amazed at the writing style and the depth of the characters and historical situations she works with. Her understanding of early Ireland in the Christian era is superb. Her research shows throrughout her books
