Studying Mathematics at Oxford has been a massive change from A-Level but I have been really enjoying it, I especially love having tutorials as they are a fantastic opportunity to have work through problems that specifically you and your tutorial partner are having difficulties with and ask questions that allow you to improve yourself as a mathematician. Oxford University is committed to recruiting the best and brightest students from all backgrounds. We offer a generous package of financial support to Home/EU students from lower-income households.

MYP Mathematics Mathematics 4 & 5 Extended Extended covers the Extended skills. Using MYP Mathematics 4 & 5 Standard with an existing scheme of work If your school has already established units, statements of inquiry, and global contexts, you can easily integrate the concept-based concept-based topics in this book into your current current scheme of work. The table table of contents on page vii clearly clearly shows shows the topics covered in each concept-based chapter. Your scheme’s units may assign a different concept to a given topic than we have.

The book consists of 36 articles on aspects of the history of mathematics more suited to academic journals as each assumes a prior knowledge of the subject. Topics range from mathematics as "the secret weapon of cultural imperialism"; to "the extent to which developments can be regarded as & similar to the rise in modernism. in painting, music, and literature"; to Rolle's theorem; to Islamic art; and mathematics in the Third Reich.
This book is not at all a heuristic guide to problem solving, or mathematics. It clearly states a great deal of useful mathematical techniques that are not common (Congruence notation, the more obscure Geometry theorems Cevas etc) and many others. Then it shows you where the techniques can and should be applied, and often will give invaluable tips on topic-specific steps.

Mathematics and logic have been central topics of concern since the dawn of philosophy. Since logic is the study of correct reasoning, it is a fundamental branch of epistemology and a priority in any philosophical system. Philosophers have focused on mathematics as a case study for general philosophical issues and for its role in overall knowledge- gathering
