A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT kicks off shortly after the cliffhanger ending of A SLIVER OF SHADOW. Allison Pang is the author of the urban fantasy Abby Sinclair series, as well as the writer for the webcomic Fox & Willow. I have to admit that book 3 didn't play out as I had imagined it would. Without giving away spoilers its hard. She spends her days in Northern Virginia working as a cube grunt and her nights waiting on her kids and cats, punctuated by the occasional husbandly serenade.

I wouldn't recommend reading this if you have not read the first two books. This is a series where you'd come in and be like what on earth? I definitely do not think this is a standalone book.

I do enjoy reading the author and the series. Why? I think the plot is interesting- I find it compelling and quite different from anything out there that I have read. The author has spun a world rich with humor and oddities that grab my attention and make me wish to learn (read) more. Sometimes I do think that Abby is a bit too stupid to live; however, I think she does it with because she seems to be thrown a lot of hardballs aimed at her face. I feel sorry for the woman. I mean seriously she has two men who may really love her (it's kind of hard to tell, since I assume that each one has his own hidden agenda) almost fighting over her. And then you get the hornycorn thrown into the mix.

I'm not sure how I feel about the love triangle that is an integral part of the storyline, but I don't think it's done where I feel repulsed by reading it.

I won't give any type of spoilers, but I'd like to say WOW. When's the next book come out?? Is there going to be a next book? There had better be!

Perhaps she'll be able to catch a bit of a break in the next one.

I think A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT has been a difficult review for me because it's such a transitional book. The majority of plot threads established in the previous installments of the Abby Sinclair series reach a boiling point and things get more than a little crazy. There's a lot of story packed into this one!

What made it difficult to review for me was just that it wasn't quite as funny as it's predeccesors and it took off in unexpected directions. It wasn't unenjoyable, just different. The whole time I felt like something was missing that I still haven't been able to put my finger on. What compacted that was that it ended in such a way I couldn't quite see there being another book to follow. Not that it ended badly, just vaguely enough I got the impression the future of the series hasn't been decided by the publisher.

Overall, it's a satisfying conclusion to the story arcs that have been previously established but I doubt I'm the only fan who was left feeling a sense of concern as to the further adventures of these much loved characters. If you've enjoyed the series for far it's not one to miss but be prepared for the possibility that it'll be a long time before we see another Abby book.

It took me quite a while to finish this book, I was afraid it had a cliff hanger and the next book is nowhere near in sight. So I took my time reading it.
Too many things happened, the most notables are Abby's death and resurrection - thanks to Phin. Maurice stealing the Key to the Crossroads and destroying the Tree.
Abby and Talivar handfast, but he releases her at the end. Abby will always love Ion more.
Talivar became the King of the Unseelie.
Abby is pregnant. We don't know who the father is but I' m guessing is Ion. He was mortal for a short period and they had sex in the mortal world. Talivar caught them in the act - awkward!
Can't wait for the next one.

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a perfect ending to this arc of the story (although there aren't anymore planned, I hope Pang revisits these characters one day). Pang pushed every one of her characters to their breaking point and flipped their respective worlds upside down. No one was left unchanged. Most of the changes were uplifting, but some were heartbreaking. She even got me to change my mind about how I felt about some of the characters. I'd been resisting liking Ion from the first book, but dammit if she didn't make me love him in the end. Pang left plenty of open threads for future stories and I certainly hope this isn't the last we've seen of them.

I almost didn't buy this book. The last few in the series were interesting but didn't blow me away. I'm really glad I gave this one a chance though! Lots of romance, drama, and action. The twists and turns kept up throughout the entire book and made for a very good read. And like any good book the final chapter left a whopper of a suprise that will make the next book even more interesting. I caught myself wishing there was an entire series devoted to many of the side characters like Mel & Nobu... hopefully more will be revealed in coming books!

I throughly enjoyed the entire series. Allison Pang did it justice. This book verse the others is a slow start. She's very descriptive and let's you feel as though your there. The dialog is witty and kept me engaged. I don't believe this would be the last book but I'm not seeing any other book in the works.

love it. I am currently waiting on the next book. (I hope that theirs a next book). It series leaves a need to read more of it but doesn't promise a next book. a prequel would not be amiss. The series jumps you into the middle of a story not written.
This book took a very long time to find its pace. It was a slow and long haul for the action to begin and for me to feel engaged. I almost put it down, but since I paid full price, I pressed on. It finished better, but I am on the fence as to whether I will continue with the series, it is because it finished strong that I am somewhat inclined to pick up the next book and see what happens. Don't rush for this one.
