Title: Wicked Book One And Two: Witch and Curse Authors: Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie. Summary: Holly Cather's world shatters when her parents are killed in a terrible accident. Wrenched from her home in San Francisco, she is sent to Seattle to live with her relatives, Aunt Marie-Claire and her twin cousins, Amanda and Nicole. Curse - If Witch was great, then Curse is amazing! I absolutely loved it! Curse picks up a few months after Witch finished, and not a huge amount has happened other than the Cahors Coven has grown in strength and knowledge.

Nancy Holder, Debbie Viguié. The Deveraux had nothing to do with her school-neither brother went there-and she felt a little safer here than at home. After she’d gone to bed, her heart about to burst from her chest, she managed. to calm down and convince herself that everything that had happened could be explained in a natural way. People’s cars did have mechanical problems, after all. And this was Seattle, not Amityville. And I have the broken arm to prove it, she thought sarcastically as she and Amanda moved through the halls of the high school

This is a double book, so I'm reviewing the two separately.

Witch: Holly's life is forever altered when her parents and best friend die in a freak rafting accident. Sent to live with her aunt and twin cousins, Holly soon meets the handsome bad boy, Jer Devereaux, and discovers she and her cousins are actually witches. Although I felt that the last quarter of the book was a little rushed, I enjoyed this story and can't wait to read the next installment.

Curse: Curse continues the story of Holly Cathers and her witch cousins as they battle the Devereaux coven. Witch ended with Holly believing her boyfriend, Jer, had died. Curse continues the story with Holly, Amanda, and Nicole becoming stronger and adding people to their coven. Although I did like the story, there were portions that were disturbing, so I would caution younger readers or those easily triggered to tread carefully. Overall, this books helps lay the foundation for the ultimate showdown to come.

I found this book very interesting. It's not the typical swooning, angsty teenager and drama and back and forth story... not completely, at least. I found the idea of this book to be very interesting and well-written. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't necessarily good vs bad and good guys prevail. It took me a couple of chapters to fully understand what was going on, but maybe that was just me. It started off a bit slow and my expectations quickly dropped, but then they went back up pretty fast as well. I ended up enjoying the book much more than I had anticipated. It grasps a lot of different emotions at unexpected times and was also occasionally unpredictable. So if you think it starts off slow, continue reading because it gets much better. Anyway. This I know isn't the best review ever, but I felt this book was pretty different from the norm, and interesting to say the least. I liked it enough to purchase the second one, so hopefully I continue to be pleasantly surprised.

This book had the potential to be great but the authors got lost in their own plot line. It seems that the ladies didn't put their heads together enough to come up with a solid story that made sense or bother to flesh out the supporting characters enough to make them seem more real. The main characters fall flat and leave you with the sense that you wouldn't like this people or even care about them if you met them in real life.

I would have given this fewer stars, but it was not possible. The villains are incompetent and the heroes inept. If the characters had attained one dimension, it would have been an improvement. I don’t know which was worse, the mythology or the poetry. The magic and monsters seem to have come out of a Dungeons and Dragons Manual. If you’re over ten years old, don’t waste your time. Unfortunately, I actually read the entire series to the bitter end. I think it was for the same reason people gawk at automobile accidents..

I really couldn't get into this book. I couldn't make it past the first chapter.

Love this book, can't wait to read the next one! Was anticipated to deal with witches and warlocks but how detail oriented it is made me feel as if I was there.
I was extremely disappointed with the condition of this book. I was giving it as a gift and should have just paid the extra money and gotten the brand new one.
