Book 1 of 3 in the Blood Dancers Series. The story is compelling; I have to admit to slightly losing track of who is who now and again because of the names used. I was mildly irritated in that the all powerful head of the family who can kill with a thought does not seek to get rid of obviously dangerous characters (including his own son) as soon as it become apparent they are a threat. The reasons given for not doing so do not seem to me to be quite valid.

This book takes stock of the underlying intellectual sub-structure of intelligence. For intelligence as for other areas of policy, serious intellectual inquiry is the basis for improving the performance of real-world institutions. The volume explores intelligence from an intellectual perspective, not an organizational one. Instead the aim of the book is to identity themes that run through these applications, such as the lack of comprehensive theories, the unclear relations between providers and users of intelligence, and the predominance of bureaucratic organizations driven by collection.

He believes that due to her magical abilities, her blood would be reusable in his water purification rituals rather than exhausted after one rite. He has asked you to locate her retreat deep within the Oldwalls and return with her corpse.

The Tyranny of the Blood takes place in a world of cruelty and twisted immorality. In a medieval time, there exists The Family, a people of inbred bloodline that results in great power. . . and madness. The ruler, Lord Corvan ,has tried for centuries to sire the perfect heir, one of perfect features and strong in the gift. Finally having done so, the heir is named "Rendail" and this book is his story.

The Tyranny of the Blood is a mesmerizing tale that takes the reader through Rendail's inhuman childhood, being hated by his mother from the day he was born. After a number of years, he was taken to be educated and learn in the ways of The Family, with its strict customs and rules of civility. Along the way, the readers encounter numerous but memorable characters who help Rendail on his way to take his place as head of the family.

Soon enough, Rendail learns that he too is tainted with madness, as was his father, and has to contend with it. While ruling the family and finding ways to further the bloodline, he is faced with the responsibility of finding a way to save his people from the curse, while working to ensure the prosperity of the family. Rendail's desire to sire a heir with the gift to cross time itself becomes reality, but he learns the price of achieving this power.

The Tyranny of the Blood is a fascinating tale of honor, loyalty, and the trappings of a tyrant.

This story is just that; your driving down the road you see an accident and can't keep your eyes off of it even though its horrific. This author makes you feel for the characters, it draws you in and even though you think you can't read anymore you have to finish it. Basically everyone in this story gets abused physically, mentally and emotionally. This "Family" is sadistic, mutated monsters but everyone adheres to the tyrant the "Lord". They all have secrets but Lord Corvan has many and soon another (and the last) of his sons is brought into the world. Lord Corvan's son soon has to take over, but even then the evil just goes on and on. It is a good book but beware very violent. It is worth every penny. The only downside to it is I kept questioning what are they but alas never found out.

A good read for sure as long as grammacal errors down bother you. I managed to read the whole series and the plot and storyline progress nicely throughout with only a few hiccups here and there.

I was pleasantly surprised to be caught up so quickly and deeply by this story. The characters were interesting, the storyline compelling, and the writing smooth. I will be buying the next novel in this series, and recommend that other fantasy fans do the same.

This is a grand story! It's realistic science fiction. The characters are rich and complex........ I don't want to give much away, it is very worthy of a reading. It has heart.
