First off, I've only played the Darkness 1 game so far. But with the release of the second one, I was curious to. .An exelent story that has a dark malevolent undertone with beautiful art by Marc Silvestri. This is a great place to start for anyone interested in the darkness comic series.

First off, I've only played the Darkness 1 game so far. But with the release of the second one, I was curious to find out the game's origins. I was not disappointed. I love Garth Ennis and his stories, and he doesn't disappoint for this co-written story. The art really worked well for this story as well. This book has an ending open enough for the series to expand but clean enough to be its own story without requiring a continuation to explain any unanswered questions.

First off, I've only played the Darkness 1 game so far. But with the release of the second one, I was curious to find out the game's origins. I was not disappointed. I love Garth Ennis and his stories, and he doesn't disappoint for this co-written story. The art really worked well for this story as well. Obviously, the comic is very different than the game, but I still enjoyed it. Surprisingly, there were aspects of the first game that I wished were in this more. So if you want to find out where Jackie Estacado and the Darkness emerged from, then read this. And if you haven't played the game, give this dark, edgy, violent, and epic comic a chance.

I've read some of the book and so far its a very well done piece so far. Something I didn't expect was some humor in the comic and I like that the most so far but it is mainly gruesome humor and sexual so for anyone who wants this for a child, don't buy this series. The Darkness is an older audience comic and would not recommend for kids under 14 even though the the book is MA kids these days do all kinds of things worse than read comics and Its not very graphic....yet. I am a gore fanatic and love graphic comics, novels, movies, and shows and this is defiantly something for the "evil" hearted. For anyone who loves the violence and graphic scenes of people getting there heads ripped from their bodies and peoples getting mutilated than I suggest buying and watching Hellsing Ultimate its a vampire's feasts in Britain. Its an anime so make sure to watch this in the English dubbed because of the character Alucards voice actor (you will get what I mean when you watch it. I will also suggest a website called www.watchdubbed.net it has free streaming and you can watch a wide selection of anime.

Its a fun story published by image and has that 90's feel. The book is produced very beautifully. The art is a mix of awesome and poor art. The story is fun and different since its in that anti-hero perspective. The reason for 3 stars is because it has a good amount of bad art. But for the most part a good book. I don't regret buying this and I bought the rest of the series too.
