Case Closed" is almost entirely made up of standalone mysteries, with suspects and murders that will probably never be referred to again. But in the thirty-third volume, Gosho Aoyama strings together these mysteries on some dark, ongoing plot threads - in particular, a pair of mysterious people who are clearly more than they appear. First Conan has to help poor Takagi work out who the culprit is in a difficult robbery case, where none of the suspects fit the description of the culprit.

Since Case Closed's premiere, over 1000 chapters have been released in Japan, making it the 21st longest running manga series.
