Like the last reviewer said it is a great "pocket" book. Do not expect TOO much from it though. If you are a student of the art you "may" not appreciate it. If you are however someone who needs a little intro to the art of Naturopathic Medicine then this book is OK.

This book is an interesting 1990s record of North American naturopathic claims and methods from an NCNM graduate. It discusses the tenets of naturopathy [though her alma mater does it more transparently, not opaquely, as is the case here regarding naturopathy's underlying vitalistic premise], homeopathy is explicitly stated as a "science" though it is known scientifically to be implausible empty pills, there is acupuncture and its "qi", and the home remedies section has a homeopathic recommendation for every ill listed, pretty-much. To top it off, the appendix lists "basic and clinical sciences" hours, comparing naturopathic schools to Ivy League medical schools. Did you know that ND students studied more science, according to these 1988 numbers, than MD students at John Hopkins, Harvard, Yale, and Stanford? That's interesting, considering the fact afterwards that an absurdity like homeopathy is posed as: science subset naturopathy subset homeopathy. The author is now [2012] at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, which, by the way, explicitly states the science-ejected vitalistic IS the basis of the naturopathic context and homeopathy as "powerful".
