Tess Farraday wrote in such a lovely way that for a brief time I almost believed in selkies

Tess Farraday wrote in such a lovely way that for a brief time I almost believed in selkies. An unforgettable story! A wonderful, enchanting sea spell is cast. Published by Thriftbooks. com User, 19 years ago. Lately I have had a hard time finding an enthralling supernatural romance, but Tess Farraday's book Sea Spell has been a godsend. Both Beth and Gordon are well-developed characters with interesting backgrounds and reasonable motivations. Unlike most romances, there are no flat characters in this novel. Also, the plot is well-done with few lulls.

Spells book - site categories. When you learn how to read tarot cards, you will be the only person who can see in a sea of blind people; or the only one with a flashlight while the rest are wandering in the dark. In my opinion, I can’t help you; you don’t follow the above stated rules and postulates; you are underage. Besides love rituals and spells to help you make your spouse stop cheating on you or to reignite the spark in your relationship, there are spells designed to help you spot and break hexes, health-improving rituals, as well as magical formulae and algorithms to help you get rich or end your bad luck.

I don't remember much about the book other than i believe the woman was unaware she was a mermaid or selky moved to a new town and ended up falling in love with a selky. As a teenager, Beth Caxton nearly drowned while swimming in Grey Gallows Bay. Her rescue was rather mysterious, for she was seen being resuscitated by a naked man who quickly disappeared.

This love spell is excerpted from my book, The Magic of Trees. Sandalwood is extremely sensualizing and gets us right into our bodies by activating our lower chakras while simultaneously opening us up to the realm of Spirit. And since roses open and activate the upper chakras and are the energy of pure and potent love, sandalwood and rose are an irresistible one-two punch when it comes to love magic. This spell will draw new romantic love into your life. On a Friday when the moon is waxing or full, wake up before sunrise and go outside.

Tess fluttered over to the archway and waved up at the girls. She wore cropped blue pants and a pale blue sparkly T-shirt with an aquamarine sweater over it. Her silky blond hair was parted into two bouncy braids. Girls, I’m so glad to see you, Tess called in a silvery voice. Come and join me inside your beautiful sandcastle! She pointed her wand at Rachel and Kirsty, and a stream of sparkles swirled around them. The girls felt themselves shrinking like they had so many times before.

With Black Magic Love Spells make sure you have the right intentions. Start the ritual by casting the circle using the sea salt

With Black Magic Love Spells make sure you have the right intentions. You must be prepared for powerful changes to occur in a noticeably short time. But make sure that you knew he loved you and was happy during the days you were with him. The power of a spell to return a lost lover is so enormous that it can make you more attractive than what you were in his or her eyes. Start the ritual by casting the circle using the sea salt. Use the Athame and carve the Symbol of the Algiz Rune into the wax. Anoint the white candle with clove oil, or spike it with at least 7 whole cloves.

Beth returns to the quaint, seaside town of Grey Gallows in search of the mysterious, dark-haired youth who once rescued her from drowning there only to vanish into the mist, and finds instead a very human suitor who seems oddly familiar. Original.

I don't often read "romance novels," but after a recent visit to the shore - and after watching "The Secret of Roan Inish" and "Ondine" - I was in the mood to read something that included a male selkie or "merman." I came across this title on a list somewhere, purchased it, and finally picked it up this morning to read while having a cup of tea. And I just couldn't put it down! Spending all day reading a book wasn't my original plan for the day, but that's how engrossed I became in Beth and Gordon's story. I thought it was wonderfully romantic without being corny, and considering the subject matter, oddly believable. And who could resist a book in which the author manages to throw in a reference to the classic song "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)?!?" The only thing that caused me to roll my eyes a bit was Beth's virginity - but other than that, I really loved it. I plan to pass it around to my sea-loving friends - but only as long as they promise to return it, since this is definitely a keeper, one I know I'll want to read again.

I've recently discovered the fantasy/romance genre from my usual historical ones, so I was pretty excited at reading about selkies. After all, the plot sounded really interesting. Maybe it's just me, but from the very beginning, I was bored to death. On one hand, you have these two adults who are attracted to each other, but they just don't really do ANYTHING about it. Frankly, I was really turned off by the fact that the guy was really naive when it came to landdwellers (us humans) as compared to his world of sea. After all, he was able to live among us...I really had to struggle thru the book, and found it perfect for the young children to read as there wasn't anything in there that could really classify the book for adults only. Even the brief moment when they actually had sex (towards the very end, mind you) it was so vague as to leave one wondering what actually happened here. Overall, I rate this book as very sweet, but no dice in the romance department.

I love books about the mythic selkies from Jane Yolen's "Greyling" , to Anne Stuarts "A Dark and Stormy Night" to Christina Dodd's "A Well Favored Gentlemen". Their intrinsic beauty and spirit makes you wish they were real. Gordon Henson's character is no exception. How could you not love a man who names himself after a Sesame Street Character and the muppets creator. His innocence of heart is as appealling as the wildness of his nature. I also think his restraint is refreshing. He puts winning his love's mind and heart over lust for her body. Truly romantic.

Beth had been a young girl living in Grey Gallows when she was rescued from drowning in her beloved sea. Somehow she knew her briefly seen rescuer had been a selkie!
Many years later, Beth returned to Grey Gallows. She never knew the selkie had kept watch over her all those years. Beth was the mate he had chosen!
*** A magical romance to sweep a reader of her feet! I read this one while sitting on the beach, listening to the waves crash upon the shore. Tess Farraday wrote in such a lovely way that for a brief time I almost believed in selkies. An unforgettable story! ***

The relationship between Beth and Gordon is exciting, mysterious, warm, and caring....a combination of all the things we look for in a romantic relationship of equals....as different as they are, beth and her selkie lover find romance, love, friendship and support. they live in a small town that doesn't really understand either one of them, but they have each other and for now that's enough! it is the perfect summer story to read on the beach, by the pool, at the campsite, or in a 5 star hotel! you'll love beth and gordon and "sea spell"....tess farraday is imaginative, creative and talented. she tells a good story that is well worth your time...she'll whisk you to a magical place this summer and you will be under her spell of "sea spell"....
When Beth Caxton returns to her childhood home of Grey Gallows, hoping to take a break from the problems of the "real world," she has no idea that her quiet vacation is about to be turned upside down by a sinister plot to destroy the sleepy little seaside town she loves. Even more surprising is the handsome, mysterious, man from the sea, Gordon, who is a pleasing mixture of raw sensuality, animal magnetism, and childlike wonder. Together they face the dangers of Grey Gallows and an out-of-this-world love that's destined to be.
