Marriage and Other Games is a complete page-turner, kept my interest throughout and I loved the way the characters - who were so different from each other - came together. Usually with these types of books you can kind of guess what happens at the end, not with this one. SPOILER ALERT: Dont read on if you dont want to know what happens in the end.

Veronica Henry is easy to read. The book is first-class chick-lit and a great beach read.

Veronica Henry is easy to read. However, with some sympathetic fleshing-out of her characters and more concentration on heart and content rather than style, she could have lifted her novel into a higher literary league.

Love this author; but sort of disappointed with the storyline. You have a small town setting with celebrities and locals interacting at the pub. The main character escapes the city and personal problems and lands in this town where she finds herself. Nothing new, nothing really interesting or funny. I did finish it, but it left me wanting something more interesting.

This novel has an original plot with quite a few twists and completely unpredictable outcomes. Henry crafts her characters carefully, with enough detail to give even some of the lesser characters depth and complexity. The dialogue is authentic and the village atmosphere is well conveyed. This is probably Henry's best yet.
