All Leon Uris novels are 5 star masterpieces, and QB VII is no exception. Uris is one of the best authors in the historical fiction genre. QBVII, like many of his other novels, deals with recent Jewish history, such as Israel and the Holocaust. This novel, like all historical fiction, is based on a real event: the author's experience being sued for libel based on this negatively writing about a still living (at the time) physician who allegedly cooperated with the Nazis in medical atrocities. This is the third Leon Uris novel that I have read (in addition to Exodus and The Haj). All are highly recommended.
QB VII by Leon Uris is a dramatic courtroom novel published in 1970. The novel was Uris's second consecutive New York Times Best Seller and third overall. The novel is loosely based on a court case for defamation (Dering v Uris) that arose from Uris's earlier best-selling novel Exodus. QB VII" is an abbreviation of Queen's Bench Courtroom Number Seven.

Leon Marcus Uris (August 3, 1924 – June 21, 2003) was an American author of historical fiction who wrote many bestselling books including Exodus (published in 1958) and Trinity (published in 1976). Uris was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Jewish American parents Wolf William and Anna (née Blumberg) Uris. His father, a Polish-born immigrant, was a paperhanger, then a storekeeper. His mother was first-generation Russian American.
