Author Justin Scott just might love the Normandie too well. The book was interesting, but the deliberate pace and almost overwhelming detail sometimes swamped what should have been the excitement of the hunt for the saboteur. This book was well written, but should have been tightened up to make it a true thriller. Scott should have saved some of that detail for a history of the ship and her salvage. I would have enjoyed that book as well, but the combination of of all that detail with the thriller format leave the thriller plot a plodder.

A gripping espionage thriller, which sees two spies locked in a psychological battle of wills in the run up to the Second World War. As the burning ship sinks, it becomes clear that a Nazi spy is behind the disaster. And naval architect Steven Gates must expose the agent's deadly plans for even greater destruction.
