The book is a modern fairy tale, with the old pattern of the three sons who set out to follow a chimera. In this version, one winds up as head of a band of primitive savages; another as member of a ""convent"" where inmates are made bisexual through an operation and indulge in orgies of questionable nature; the third after many obscure adventures, gets involved in a social revolution and becomes a leader of men. All of which seems to simplify it beyond the possibilities of a highly involved, introverted, obscure, over-written and mannered fantasy. Better read and judge for.

I’ve been here for hours oes, and my backpack. Just let me go back to work. I stopped talking as I heard my voice veer off into a pathetic whine. It dawned on me that, without the computer, my last statement wasn’t really true. I didn’t have any business in the booth. Still, I needed to get out of here.
