A very nice collection of the short stories of Elmer Kelton. Many of them were written when he was just starting out. Includes one of my favorites, "North of the Big River," which is very hard to find. Elmer Kelton may not be as well know as many of the big names in Western fiction but I can assure you that he is just as good.

Having worked a good part of my life as an oilfield worker, roustabout Cat skinner and truck driver in rural South Texas for some years, I recognize Mr. Keltons narratives as a way of life that is gone from our society, yet lives through his works, May his spirit live forever,Thank You Elmer, you made a hand.
