I was looking for another "good read" and remembered Belva Plain. In fact, I have never read one of her books that I didn't like. So I just kinda closed my eyes "so to speak" and chose "The Sight of the Stars." I was not sorry. And, as I often do when I am about to finish a book I'm enjoying, I found myself slowing down because I didn't want the book to end. Her characters are very believable. Indeed, I saw a recognizable trait sometimes found in my own family. That being, the reticence to forgive and forget past perceived hurts. It was very sad that both Adam and Leo died without ever reconciling their differences.

An inspiring story about a little albino girl born to rich religious fanatics in the 1930s who was sold to the circus as a 'freak' by her fruitcake mother. Her sister, who inherits the family estate, never knew this sister existed. It's about the struggles of the 2 sisters, each very different from the other. I enjoy all of Belva Plain's novels and this was no exception.

Great book, always like the writing. I've gone through a couple of books in 2 days. Characters very interesting. Sometimes can anticipate what's gonna happen but most times left in suspense.

This was an outstanding book. Of course I have liked all of Belva Plain's books. I did not know that she had passed away until I read this book. I felt so bad. Her books are always so wonderful and good. I will miss her.
