Eleanor Boylan is the author of three previous Clara Gamadge mysteries-Working Murder, Murder Observed, and Murder Machree- as well as stories published in Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. Born in New York, she currently lives on Anna Maria Island in Florida. Boylan carries on the fine family tradition by writing of the adventures of Henry's intrepid widow, Clara.

Yozshujinn

This is the first in a series of 5. I love the characters and plan on reading the rest very soon. It is a mystery with an older woman as the primary character. She is a widow and very multi faceted. She has a cousin as a sort of sidekick. Very enjoyable.

Rude

The Clara Gamadge series is almost as good as (and less dated than) the Henry Gamadge books. I find the frequent typos in the Kindle text irritating, but not a complete deterrent.

Westened

I am 26% in, and so far the entire thing has been a series of silly, contrived roadblocks that constantly interrupt the characters and prevent them from disclosing to each other the details of a long ago family mystery that is at the root of a current situation.

Scads of filler, over-explaining of irrelevant details, and people constantly behaving in Oh-nobody-would-do-that and Why-didn't-they-just. kind of ways.

I probably won't finish it.
