This book explains some inventive bookbinding techniques using folding, slits and slides and interlocking structures instead of sewing. Although each example was designed in response to a particular text, the principles can be applied to any book and are intended as a starting point for your own experiments. It contains diagrams and easy-to-follow instructions for making 4x5 inch models using 4 leaves to demonstrate the principles. No particular expertise is required to make them. The methods are particularly useful for containing concertina books in their covers or binding strips, thus preventing unintended cascades. My only criticism is that the photographed books are not in colour.
