We’ve selected several poems about fatherhood, ranging from the classic ( Only a Dad by Edgar Guest) to the contemporary (Maxine Kumin’s Spree ). Some of these poems speak of fathers with love, admiration, and praise ( The Gift ), while others speak with resentment, sorrow, and regret ( In Dreams ).

Prose writing can be rhythmic, but on the whole, rhythm in prose is less pronounced than in verse. Christopher Marlowe's poem "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" epitomizes pastoral themes. Some didn’t have father’s worthy of celebration. Yet, the whole world has gone mad over maintaining a proper diet. Very few fathers set out to purposefully make mistakes in their parenting.
