I ran across my copy of 'Up Periscope' that I'd gotten from Scholastic Books a couple eons ago. That book was made into a pretty decent movie with James Gardner one of the Maverick brothers and star of 'The Rockford Files' among others.

I read it again and decided to see what other books by Robb White were available and found 'The Frogmen' as available and affordable.

Though this story is somewhat similar to 'Up Periscope', it is an excellent read. It would be classed as 'young adult' but despite my age, that's what I am. White has lived that life, those tense years of WWII, for his knowledge and detail is evident and is crucial to the story, that keeps you on edge, wondering where it will go from one place to another.

An Addition to Author Robb White, a collection I started in late 70's. His books are great, especially for the real military situations/drama. Up periscope made into a movie! He knows what it's like. But does stay away from all the gore in book. Great for young readers, I kept many of His!
