Futur intérieur ebook

Futur intérieur book.
Futur intérieur book. Ils sont trente-neuf à rêver un hypothétique avenir. This book, like the other Christopher Priest books I have read, kind of made my head hurt a little and I find myself having to slow down (no bad thing) to try and get the ion right in my head. Without giving too much away, it's a loop within a loop within a loop, and the kind where you have to sit down and actually conceptualise it, at which point your head either explodes or you realise it doesn't work. I'm not going to tell you which is which!

The city of Earth is steadily winching its way forward on tracks picked up and laid anew every day, for if it were to stand still it would be swept away in the constant southward movement of the land itself. The inhabitants of the city have been moving the city for two hundred years, waiting always to be rescued by the mother planet, Earth, from which they have somehow been separated. Printed in the United States of America.

Two 19th century stage illusionists, the aristocratic Rupert Angier and the working-class Alfred Borden, engage in a bitter and deadly feud; the effects are still being felt by their respective families a hundred years later. Working in the gaslight-and-velvet world of Victorian music halls, they prowl edgily in the background of each other's shadowy life, driven to the extremes by a deadly combination of obsessive secrecy and insatiable curiosity.
