Testing and Verifying Web Services ebook

by Xinyu Zhou

ASTRAR provides a framework for testing Web services (WS) using the group testing technique. This paper extends the basic two-phase testing process and introduces the windowing mechanism to further improve testing efficiency. Web services and service-oriented architecture are emerging technologies that are changing the way we develop and use computer software.

In the meantime, SOA advocates run-time system integration of loosely coupled services across heterogeneous platforms in a distributed environment and also improves the flexibility of system development. However, trustworthiness becomes a serious problem and corresponding techniques have to be brought to the table.

Since these web services are exposed to the web and distributed over different networks, they are vulnerable to risks and security threats which affect the processes based on them. There are several commercial and open source testing tools in the market to test their connectivity, response, and performance. These testing tools automate testing for a specific scenario such as functional testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.

Web services are emerging technologies that are changing the way we develop and use computer systems and software

Web services are emerging technologies that are changing the way we develop and use computer systems and software. Current Web services testing techniques are unable to assure the desired level of trustworthiness, which presents a barrier to WS applications in mission and business critical environments. This paper presents a framework that assures the trustworthiness of Web services. New assurance techniques are developed within the framework, including specification verification via.

Among the tests you perform on web applications, security testing is perhaps the most important. The 13-digit and 10-digit formats both work.

This book will help not only journalists but anyone working in humanitarian situations in the field to verify facts on the ground. In these times, knowing what is real and how to verify news and other information is essential

This book will help not only journalists but anyone working in humanitarian situations in the field to verify facts on the ground. William Spindler, Spokesman, The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). This handbook will be essential for journalists covering interreligious and interethnic conflicts to report in a more balanced, transparent and accurate way, and ultimately help defuse tensions across and within communities. In these times, knowing what is real and how to verify news and other information is essential. This handbook provides essential tools for everyone, journalism and consumer.

Adaptive Testing, Oracle Generation, and Test Case Ranking for Web Services - Web services and service-oriented architecture are emerging technologies that are changing the way we develop and use computer software. This paper presents an adaptive group testing technique that can test large number web services simultaneously and effectively. Based on a case study, experiments are performed to validate the correctness and effectiveness of the technique.

As service-oriented architecture matures and more Web services become available, developers must test an ever-increasing volume of services. In the meantime, SOA advocates run-time system integration of loosely coupled services across heterogeneous platforms in a distributed environment and also improves the flexibility of system development. However, trustworthiness becomes a serious problem and corresponding techniques have to be brought to the table. This challenging topic constitutes the majority of my research content during my three and a half years of PhD studies. This book comes from my PhD dissertation. In this book, I introduced an effective verification framework that can greatly reduce the effort for the rapid testing and dynamic verification of SOA applications and Web Services. This verification framework consists of two key components: a underlying testing mechanism to support the static testing of services, and a policy-based dynamic verification mechanism to guard the service collaboration and composition on the fly.
