She is the author of War Games: Inside the World of Twentieth-Century War Reenactors (Smithsonian Books, 2004). Being a YMCA professional and history buff, the information and the biography part were enjoyable. The book (rather diary) was rather dry at times but good.

When you want to learn about World War II, hear it from people who were there. What makes this book special is the description of his pre-flight nerves and his feelings the night before a mission. Gives a feel for the Great War era. The writing style is typical of the period and the history is pretty good, though a bit over-stated in the superlatives, but that's how things rolled in that time period. Billy Levere, the subject, was a legend in the YMCA during the war. It's a good story.
