I grew up with the Duden system in German (German National). I purchased this to brush up on my mother language and to entice my hubby to maybe pick up German. I intend to use it when my son gets older in later years to raise him bilingual. It is well organized and the best written German Language learning system.

Frostdefender

I feel weird saying "I love it" about a pronunciation dictionary, but...it's really comprehensive and easy to use. Super helpful to have as a reference. Duden is considered pretty authoritative, so if you're torn between this and some other pronunciation dictionary, probably go for this one.

Lestony

This dictionary on German pronunciation is the undisputed authority in the field. It contains the most extensive list of words and provides the latest, most up-to-date transcription of their pronunciations. I would recommend it to anyone who is just interested in improving their German pronunciation, and of course to all teachers of German.

Zololmaran

Essential for singers, although some guides as to poetic turns of phrase ("gold'ne", "Sternebesäeten")) would have been useful. But admirably clear.
