This comprehensive multidisciplinary text presents an empowering view of adulthood, through an examination of the influences of age, gender, cohort, race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, and culture.

The fourth edition of Development in Adulthood continues its commitment to being the most current, comprehensive, scholarly, and readable text on adult development and aging available. Retaining its theoretical foundations in the life-span developmental perspective and the contextual model of development as represented by Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, its multidisciplinary approach presents an empowering view of adulthood through an examination of the nature and sources of diversity and the influences of age, gender, cohort, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and culture on development. This text has been thoroughly revised to strengthen and polish its pedagogy and organization, at the same time making room for the most current research and thinking in the field and expanded treatment of emerging hot topics. Students will find this topically organized text both an engaging and accessible introduction to the challenges and opportunities of adult life.

This book is enjoyable to read...yes even for a Psychology book. The book was a little more torn around the outside of the spine of the book than I expected, but overall it came in good condition. I have learned a lot already about concepts of aging at different milestones in life. This book is helping me to better understand what my parents are currently going through as well as my grandparents. It has surprised me how different the current thoughts and steriotypes of "old age" are and how older people truely feel. I am now more aware of what milestones I will come across and have a new knowledge of how to persevere through them and come out as a happier, healthier, and more purposeful person.

Using this for an online class that is a TON of work. The book itself is actually a good read, but the professor asks us to write a mini thesis based off of one question each week. Oy. Pleased with the book itself. I rented it and when I received it there was a lot of highlighting throughout. Kind of excessive if you ask me. If I were amazon, I might have deemed this copy "improperly used" by the previous renter and had them pay for the book.

Needed this book for my sons college class at the last minute. Price was Great and my son said it was it very good condition (mailed to his dorm, so I did not see it) the only MAJOR setback was that there was no tracking information provided. I rarely order anything and tracking is not provided... I ordered a $5.00 baked good and there was tracking info... paid for expedited shipping so was hopeful to get it quickly and received it in six days, adequate timing considering it was only going to PA.

It did not come with the value-pack with My Search lab, but I didn't need it. The purchase was fine and all went well, but when I sold it I got ripped off for the book and the money by the person I sold it to on Amazon.

I got the book quite fast considering my mess up in payment method. It was delivered on time in spite of me! I was really surprised, the book is like brand new. You sure cant tell it is used. I'm very happy with my purchase. i will defiantly look for my textbooks here first. Can't beat the price or service.
