He is the author of a companion volume from Ravenna Press, the collection Sonja's Blue and the novel A Girl Named Jesus. In all of his works Wilson dives deep into human emotions; he's apparently fearless about tapping that well of pain and suffering that all great writers do.

Wilson trucks are reliable for all kinds of trucking jobs and they offer multiple services to customers. If all you need is the power, and not the trailer, you can get that from Wilson as well. Smaller scale Wilson trucks can handle all of your yard maintenance needs. They also offer management of a private fleet, so you don't have to worry about the cost, compliance, safety, etc. when it comes to your fleet operation.

Mystery of the Red Truck. By Sally Nicholls, a local reporter. The truck licence plate belongs to this town, but nobody has seen it here. It has been confirmed that late on the night of the sixth of July, a large red truck ran into the bakery on Maryland Street. According to the town records, the owner of the truck moved away from here years ago. No one knows where to. If we located the owner, we'd probably solve this mystery. ’ If a truck moves, then it has a driver.

This is the first Ravenna Press edition of Wilson's novel, a cult favorite originally published in 1987 by Knopf, with a new Introduction by Marc Kipniss. Published alongside his short story collection, Sonja's Blue, these books are interesting evidence in the controversy over the influence of former Knopf editor Gordon Lish (who edited The Red Truck but not the short stories.) Lish edited Wilson as he edited Raymond Carver, with dazzling results that may be compared to the author's original and unedited writing in Sonja's Blue.

Rudy Wilson is one of those great writers who won't be fully appreciated until after he's gone. Then he'll be discovered and his works will be required reading in school, right next to Faulkner and Steinbeck. An award-winner, the Red Truck is the title Wilson is most known for and it's far and away a classic work of literature. In all of his works Wilson dives deep into human emotions; he's apparently fearless about tapping that well of pain and suffering that all great writers do. Read "The Red Truck," then go on to "Shiny," Wilson's latest effort, and without doubt his greatest so far. Oh, and make sure you buy the hard copies and keep the dust jackets.

I found a beat-up, doggy-eared copy of this unexpected gem in the book swap library of a hotel in a backpacker hotel in Vietnam two years ago. It had obviously passed through the hands of many travelers before me, but when I finished it (somewhere in Cambodia), I decided to bring it home with me. It's not a book you'd share with everyone, but it got under my skin and I bought a copy for my new boyfriend so he could learn a little more about me. (The book has nothing to do with Southeast Asia -- I think it could only have been written in the U.S. and only by an American author -- but that's where I happened to stumble into it.)

While absorbing this book, at times I couldn't hold it close enough. I experienced a genuine oneness with the world Rudy created. In the next moment, the shift in my awareness it caused was so foreign, I wanted to throw the book as far away from me as possible. But of course, I held on... for all I was worth. This is a real literary treasure, in a class of its own as is the author. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Wilson's work.

Words cannot begin to describe how much I love this book. I've read it many times although I no longer read it from front to back. I just read wherever it opens up to. It's so beautiful. Sad but very lovely. I still don't understand it, but I don't really care. It has an intoxicating effect. So cool. This book, along with Scott Bradfield's "History of Luminous Motion" and Denis Johnson's "Jesus' Son" are like a Holy Trinity. They make up their own strange universe that all of their (maniacal, as one of the other reviewers so aptly put it)fans occasionally inhabit.

This is going to be quite a short review, since it's been years since I've read this book. I do remember just how beautiful and vivid a picture the words paint. Pick it up now that its coming out in paperback. I had to spend like 25 bux on a used copy of the hardback edition because it was so hard to find. It's definately worth it. Oh yes, beware, it has a morbid twist to it, (not freaky or insane, just a darker feel) so if you hate that in a book, this might not be for you.

I loved this book. It was sad, yet beautiful. It was different and totally colorful and sensitive and strange. Thanks -
