The book introduced me to a wide range of writer's and genres from Asia, Latin America, and Africa and contains my favourite poem by a Sierra Leonean writer name Abioseh Nicol This was a very formative book for me - a collection of stories, poems, songs and essays from a wide range of developing countries. I received it as a gift from my mother as I prepared to spend two years teaching in Sierra Leone, West Africa (1978-80). I have kept this book all these years and pull it off my shelf often.
