Books on Wicca religion by author Scott Cunningham are often recommended to me, and this particular one is generally considered to be his most popular and best-sold one. It’s often recommended to beginners instead of advanced practitioners, and I, curious to see what all the fuss was about, decided to check it ou. Another piece of good news is that Mr. Cunningham has injected a spirit of individuality and freedom into the craft that does not bind one strictly to on way as the only way. The book covers alot of ground.

This book is the companion to "Wicca: A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner". Scott Cunningham is recognized as one of the most influential and revolutionary authors in the field of natural magic. It's a must have for anyone serious about learning the Wiccan path. It's, also, a good reference guide for the seasoned Witch. If you really want to learn about Wicca I highly recommend this book as well as the other one I mentioned.

This was my first book on Wicca when I became interested in it, and its easy, approachable style made learning about this wonderful religion a real pleasure. I have re-read it several times over the years and always try to remember the author's respect and clear joy in his faith, as well as his reminders that humor and fun do not have to be checked at the door (something so lacking in a great many other religions these days). If you are interested in Wicca, but not necessarily in joining a coven, this is a great place to start.

Bought it used but arrived in perfect condition like it was brand new. A bit smaller than Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, which I was a little dissapointed by but still excited to read.

_Living Wicca_ is the "sequel", if you will, to _Wicca: a guide for the solitary practitioner_ In many respects, Living Wicca is the better book. Cunningham outlines clearly what is (and is not) Wicca, and provides some details about the Sabbats and Esbats. The strength of the book is its urging to the reader that, for the solitary practioner, there is no "right" or "wrong" way to worship (within the parameters of what Wicca is).

Another strength is Cunningham's reluctance to provide rituals, spells, or folkcraft; his rationale behind this is that as a solitary, YOU should come up with your own. I could not agree more. Too many "Wicca 101" books place emphasis on this sort of thing rather than on the individual seeking and developing a relationship with the Goddess and the God. In emphasizing the differences between solitaries - and encouraging it - Cunningham provides a refreshing change. Of the many "beginners" books to Wicca, this is good - in a field where there ar e many that are not.

I never got to read this book all the way through without a good portion of my collection being destroyed. I will say this though. Anything that Cunningham puts out, I love. Through his writing you can tell he is a very gentle and caring man who is passionate about the Craft. He never gets dogmatic and he never speaks down to the reader. He is your best friend and teacher from cover to cover. He always has been and always will be my favorite writer when it comes to the Craft. I wish I could have met him while he was still alive. Rest in peace my friend.

I love Scott Cunningham as an author. He takes a moment to explain everything. I appreciated that he provided a next level book for those that are passed Wicca 101 and other introduction material.

I was interested in discovering Wicca and being solitary. This is a really informative book, encompasses history, personal preferences, covens, lifestyle choices and allowing everyone to follow their own path. Really informative. I decided Wicca is not for me, as I do not know what I believe as far as a diety, so if I don't believe in one, I can't honestly honor two. I will keep looking for what is right for me, but this book allowed me to make a truly informed choice, along with the solitary practitioner first book
One of my favorite authors on the subject. He has a lovely view on things and still leaves it open to practicing and creating rituals and altars in your own way that's comfortable and feels right to you. Which I feel is very suiting to the way of Wicca
