I have really enjoyed Sydney Somer’s books in the past. But I have to say I am disappointed in Trust Me. My frustration first starts after Lucas and Max go on the run together.

Wow! What an intense and action packed story from start to finish! I was tired for Max and Lucas and all they endured. You know those fast paced action films everyone loves, that is exactly how it played in my head as I read. Max was a total badass strong female cop. And Lucas was a no holds barred ex special ops turned secret agent. Several of their scenes were laugh out loud funny when they were bickering. They made a great team when working together and protecting each other. I will have to read more if this series because Eli, Caleb, Tess, and even Joe were intriguing to me, making me want to know them too.

Maxine "Max" Walker is on the run. Suspended from the force and accused of killing her close friend, Cara, a DEA agent, she's hiding out in Canada. Max is determined to bring down those responsible for Cara's death, but she doesn't know who to trust to help her.

When Lucas McAllister shows up in Canada, he's hell-bent on getting justice for his late partner. He's sent to bring in Max on charges, but quickly decides she's innocent. He knows he needs her and any information she possesses to find the real killers, but in order to get her to cooperate, he must first earn her trust.

Max doesn't believe Lucas is on her side, but with the other men after her; she has little choice but to go with him. Max thinks she knows who the killer is, but she needs to find concrete proof.

Both are bound and determined to find the killers, and trying to avoid getting personal at the same time. They both have trust issues from the past and let the slightest misunderstandings get between them. Their journey to each other is full of many comedic moments and some serious ones too.

Trust Me is one whirlwind of thrills after another. This story kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out what was going on, and who could be trusted. I was also in stitches over some of the snarky banter between Max and Lucas. The moods changed flawlessly from one scene to the next, and made visualizing them wonderfully easy.

If you're in the mood for a great book, what could be better than murder, mystery, and romance all bundled up into one wild ride?
