Blue Moon is a gem of a book. Vargas does a terrific job of updating the classic tale of love lost and regained through works. If you're suffering from a broken heart, don't wait another minute. Get this book! Like the title character Miguel, it will give you courage to go back into shark-infested waters and find love once more. but this one got me from the very first page. Vargas' writing is powerful!!!!, she really knows how to work a plot. I highly recommend this book not only to those who usually read romantic novels, but to anybody who apreciates sensibility, sense of humor and adventure.

We'd booked the hotel to relax around the pool, but found out when we arrived it was under construction for the entirety of our stay, which meant dust in the air and waking up in the morning to the sounds of loud drilling. We were told by the front desk that the senior management at the hotel was told NOT to tell guests who had booked the the pool was scheduled for maintenance and were denied a refund.

I don't usually read romantic novels, but this one got me from the very first page. Vargas' writing is powerful!!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone that apreciates sensibility, sense of humor and adventure!!!!! great!!!!!

As a Sailor with many years sailing in Blue Moons' geographic area I was stunned by the crisp realism, accurate depiction of the ocean setting and authenticity of the story. It is evident Dalia Vargas has first hand knowledge of the sea and has spent some years on boats. Blue Moon is a fast paced Adventure/Romance that makes you yearn to meet characters that you know are only fictional! In a twisting convoluted tale of lovers, scoundrels, intrigue and danger the characters weave and bob from protagonist to antagonist and back again until you don't know which one is going to "get the girl" or which one you want to. Blue Moon leaves you wanting more. I recommend you don't miss this book. D. Willoughby

She was happily surprised to find her ex-lover, Miguel Escudero, was the first officer of the ship her team was to use! But Silvia understood that her entire doctorate depended on the research she had to do, so romance was NOT first on her list! She had plankton to analyze and a team to hold together, even if one of them (Joe Scapino) was a major headache.
When Silvia and Miguel stumble upon an illegal poaching operation they knew their chances of escaping alive were slim!

As the research vessel journeys to the Revillagigedo Islands west of the southern tip of Baja California, Silvia finds it increasingly difficult to ignore her feelings for Miguel. Just as she struggles to take an important professional step forward, Silvia chides against the reentrance into her life of the only man who almost caused her abandon her career. Romantic distractions of the past, she vows, cannot disrupt her goals despite heated kisses under starlit skies.
It was no accident that Miguel was aboard the Azur III. He preferred taking Silvia by surprise before she could start "drawing lines in the sand." Still wildly in love with Silvia, Miguel is determined to win her back. But his seductive ways inadvertently lead them to danger when a ring of shark fin smugglers threaten their lives.
If you enjoy exotic locations, sensuous romance and a healthy dose of danger, then BLUE MOON by Dalia Vargas will most certainly the bill. I found the description of riding the manatee delightful, in addition to the poetic description of the beaches and waters of the Revillagigedo Islands. As Silvia stands behind her decision to persue her doctorate, I found Miguel's attitudes a humorous counterpoint to Silvia's views. The prose is at times rather flowery, but the generous descriptions and passionate wording reflects the Latino culture who is the intended audiance. A delightful afternoon's read BLUE MOON is Highly recommended.

But Silvia refuses to give up her dreams and her promise made to her dying mother whom she missed terribly.
What an aquatic adventure! This couple, so in love, face death together and survive against all odds. It was like watching a movie....I was so absorbed! Miquel is stubborn but he's my kind of hero!
