The Hallmark Channel based a television series on Debbie's popular Cedar Cove books.

92 Pacific Boulevard book. They met their spouses, for like 2 92 Pacific Boulevard is my least fave Debbie Macomber book in the Cedar Cove series. In the synopsis of the book I thought it is mainly Troy Davis and Faith Beckwith, but somehow I think almost all Cedar Cove characters has a bit of storyline into this book. There's Olivia's battle with cancer, love stories between Mack McAffee and Mary Jo Wyse & Christie and James, etc.

Faith Beckwith heard them outside her bedroom window. Whoever was there made no effort at stealth. Someone was about to break into the house and didn’t care if she knew. Someone was about to break into the house and didn’t care if she knew opped breathing. The clock radio said 2:14. At first she’d assumed the movements, which couldn’t be more than a few feet from her window, were just her imagination. But now there was no question-someone was there, crunching through the hardened snow in the backyard. Whoever it was might even be looking inside.

This continues the ongoing saga of a lot of interesting characters in Cedar Cove..primarily sheriff Troy Davis. On one hand his daughter is expecting..that is good news..but she is resistant to his seeing anyone since her mother has recently died after a long illness. He had reacquainted himself with his old high school sweetheart, but this romance has a very hard time getting off the ground due to his reluctance to tell his daughter about Faith, his old girlfriend. This story line can get very frustrating since it seems that two grown people could certainly get together without interference from the younger generation but it is an ongoing theme that takes a long time to resolve. The local judge, Olivia, has discovered that she has cancer and the community rallies around her. Several other stories have a thread here which really has the reader waiting for the next installment..all in all a good story that leaves one ready for more.

I can say with complete honesty that Debbie Macomber's format is far more palatable to me than my grandmother's soaps. My grandmother watched her soaps every day without fail. The lives of the people on screen were more real to her than those of us around her at times. I, however, found myself uncomfortable and embarrassed by the constant drama and emotion conveyed on the screen. In this series, I am allowed to eavesdrop on conversations and like The Shadow, observe the lives of several people as they progress through the years without all the fuss and drama - much better.

Debbie has created some interesting characters facing challenges in their lives. She takes time to share the perspectives of those who take the main stage for this installment and I did have a sense of what makes these people tick. While at times I found that these characters all seem too good to be true, I also appreciated the very strong modeling of appropriate adult behavior: caring and loving treatment of others, reasonable and honest discussion, and accepting responsibility for one's actions.

I rate this book about 3.5. I will probably pick up the next in the series next year.

This is a fast moving story. You have to really pay attention to keep up with who is wooing who. I have read books #7,8 and 9 in the
past 24 hours. I am trying not to order and start reading book #10. I read 14 books that I receive in the mail every month, and then I
go and order sometimes, 4 or more on my kindle sometimes. I got hooked on reading in 1997 when I started taking care of my 80
year old brother who started with dementia, I was 59,at that time. Reading keeps my mindset plus playing scramble.

This novel is an exploration of how people who are in love cannot always admit it. Nor do they always handle themselves well. Mistakes and how to rectify them. I loved the book.
